# Computers

> Connect a machine, prepare its providers, and check whether it can run your Agents.

A Computer is a machine connected to your workspace through the Longoz service. Agents run provider CLIs on that machine. Files, command-line tools, and any accounts a task needs must be available there.

## Add a Computer

1. Open **Computers** and choose **Add computer**.
2. Select **Linux & macOS** or **Windows** for the machine you are connecting.
3. Choose **Generate enrollment command**.
4. Choose **Copy command**, then run that exact command on the target machine. On Windows, open PowerShell from Start and paste it there. Do not use Win+R or the Run dialog.
5. Choose **Copy token** and paste the token when the installer asks for it.

The installer connects the Computer and starts the service automatically. Running the installer again reuses the installation.

The enrollment token is shown once and expires after 15 minutes. Do not share it or paste it into an issue. The dialog displays its expiry time. Generate a new command and token if yours expires before enrollment.

## Prepare a provider

Longoz supports Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, and Pi. Install the provider CLI you want to use and complete its sign-in on the Computer. A provider installed only on the machine where you browse Longoz is not available to an agent running elsewhere.

Where supported, the Computer's action menu also offers **Install provider**, and provider details offer update and **Sign in...** controls. Follow the prompts shown for that provider. If remote installation or sign-in is unavailable, complete it directly on the Computer.

After changing a provider installation or its credentials, choose **Refresh providers**. The refreshed inventory appears automatically. A successful enrollment alone does not mean a provider is ready to execute work.

## Check readiness

The Computer should show **Online** before you create an agent or start its work. Review the provider details if the provider cannot be selected.

| Provider state | What to do |
| - | - |
| Ready | Use this provider to create an agent. |
| Authentication required | Sign in to the provider on this Computer. |
| Unsupported version | Update the provider CLI to a supported version. |
| Probe failed | Check the CLI installation, then refresh providers. |
| Execution unavailable | The current provider adapter cannot execute work. Choose an available provider. |

Some providers can show **Free models only · sign in for more**. Their available models are limited until you sign in.

If the Computer shows **Offline** or **Not connected yet**, check that the Longoz service is running on that machine and can reach the internet. Refreshing providers requires an online Computer.

## Create an Agent on this Computer

You can add an agent from a ready provider on **Computers**, or open **Agents** and choose **Add agent** to select the Computer and provider there. See [Agents](https://docs.longoz.ai/agents.md) for the full setup.

A project configured with a **Local repository** needs an agent on the Computer that contains that repository. See [Projects](https://docs.longoz.ai/projects.md) before assigning repository work.

## Inspect active work

Open **Active Sessions** to see the provider processes reported by a Computer. Sessions can belong to an Issue, a Routine issue, or a Conversation.

Use **View subject** to open the work behind a session. **Exit** stops the provider process. It does not remove the saved provider session. An issue-backed session becomes **Blocked** once the process is confirmed gone; a conversation's current turn becomes interrupted.

An offline Computer cannot report a current process inventory. If Longoz says a client update is required, update Longoz on that Computer before relying on this view.

## Update or disconnect a Computer

When offered, **Update Longoz** updates the Longoz service and CLI. It waits for active runs to finish and does not update provider CLIs or user data.

**Revoke** rejects future authentication attempts after the Computer disconnects. **Uninstall** removes the Longoz installation after active work drains and pauses its agents. Review the confirmation before either action. Remote uninstall may be unavailable when the installation serves other workspaces or needs a client update.
